Instructor: Lorenna DeBella
More from South America! Moqueca de Peixe, a delicious Brazilian Fish Stew. Exotic, easy, healthy, and oooh so delicious! Lorenna is going to share her South American cuisine culture with you, and walk you through how to make this year-round coconut milk-based soup, with fresh vegetables, cilantro, and lime juice.
True Bahian Moqueca (pronounced “moo-KAY-ka duh PAY-shuh”) is made with fresh fish caught off the coast of northern Brazil, however we’ll be using a firm white fish that we can get in Sheridan: either Halibut or Cod.
This light stew is served with a simple yet delicious rice that you will also make with help from Lorenna.
And what a treat for dessert! A tropical fruit salad with sweetened cream and South American fruit such as rambutan, tamarinho, guava, passion fruit, banana, red apple, and pineapple.
Lorenna is a ton of fun! In her last class, she did a magic trick, gave away prizes to trivia questions, and they even danced some Samba! She’ll play some of her favorite music in this class too. Lorenna was born and raised in Brazil, and we are lucky enough to have her in Sheridan now. She’s educated as an English Teacher, but her other passion is for cooking.
